Getting Connected

While I was driving in Atlanta the other day, I saw a sign for an Endodontist. Not knowing what that was, I googled the term as soon as I reached the next stoplight.

The first line under the heading said, “This page has some issues.” I would say most of us can probably say that about one or more pages in our lives.

At Desire Street, we’ve been studying about how powerful emotions can be, and the fact that most of us try to contain our emotions (well, mostly the negative ones) so that they don’t affect our message. But when you get the emotions out on the table, then you open the door to really connect.

This plays a big role in urban ministry because Jesus said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Cor 12:9). His power will flow through us to the extent that we recognize our issues.

And speaking of connecting, thank you everyone for the kind words you’ve sent in regard to our new website. We think it’s really going to help us connect with you at a deeper level.  One lady told us, “I love the new site. The video made me cry – very powerful!” (She meant crying in a good way!)
